Ruturaj Gaikwad is an Indian right-handed top-order batter who has established himself as one of the prominent names in Indian limited-overs cricket. Known for his composed batting style, timing and ability to build innings, Gaikwad has represented India across ODI and T20I cricket.

He was born and brought up in Sangvi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra. Unlike several prominent cricketers, he did not come from a family with a professional cricketing background.
His father, Dashrath Gaikwad, is a retired employee of the Central Defence Research and Development Institute, while his mother, Savita Gaikwad, is a teacher.
Gaikwad’s passion for cricket became evident at a very young age. His father has recalled that Ruturaj showed an interest in the sport almost as soon as he started standing, often holding a cricket bat in his hands.
